In a few short days, Mad Munchkin Productions hosts the Winter Ball & Crockpot Cook-off at Mixed Blood Theatre. All proceeds from this post-holiday bonanza benefit Mad Munchkin Productions and our upcoming season of puppets and magic. The season kicks-off with an aquatically enchanted tale at the Bryant-Lake Bowl in March and April. In addition to the obvious nonstop-getdown on the dance floor and all manner of warm treats, guests will have the opportunity to peruse silent auction items donated from artists and restaurants, museums and theaters.
Painters and crafters alike have contributed beautiful pieces to our auction and the variety is astounding! Rhiannon Fisk of backstagecrafts has beaded jellyfish earrings especially for MMP in honor of the upcoming fish adventure. Fisk, an award-winning bead artist from Minneapolis, employs whimsy in the creations of Czech Glass, Japanese seed beads, and silver, valued at $75. Local Twin Cities director and knitting knerd Natalie Novacek has provided a handmade pale seafoam green sweater of brown sheep nature spun 100% wool with brass buttons. Elegance and warmth just in time for the winter cold. This classy garment has a 36″ bust and is valued at $300. Imagine what you may be able to walk away with it for at our auction! The auction will also include a painting by past auction favorite, Benjamin Roesler. One of his personal favorites is pictured below.
Looking for some entertainment and/or a night on the town? The Mad Munchkins have taken care of you there, too! With Dinner and a Show for Two at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, Cantus Vocal Ensemble concert tickets (and CD!), a Science Museum of MN Package for Two including Pirate exhibit admission and Omnitheater, you can see there are plenty of items in the auction for culture and diversion. To complete any of these outings, you could bid on the $50 Gift Certificate to Great Waters Brewing Co Pub in downtown St. Paul.
All these are only a few highlights from what can be found in the Mad Munchkin Silent Auction, so be sure to come on Saturday to the Winter Ball & Crockpot Cook-Off! The night promises to be a blast! And remember, cocktail attire is encouraged…but not required.
