A giant Mad Munchkin “Thanks-a-Million” goes out to everyone who helped make the 1st Annual Mad Munchkin Winter Ball and Crockpot Cook-off a wild success. Oh, yes… FIRST ANNUAL! We’ve already had requests to hold the event again. The funds raised were phenomenal and the fun had was abundant!
Nineteen delectable dishes graced the crockpot table and the silent auction produced several intense bid offs. Food ranged from bacon wrapped appetizers to gooey desserts served with Sebastian Joe’s ice cream and every main dish imaginable in between. No one went home hungry from this fundraiser! Ted Hansen‘s ‘Fly Fishing Trip for Two’ created quite a stir on the auction table as did the tickets to Cantus and the Science Museum of Minnesota.
After everyone had been stuffed full of slow-cooked goodness, the dance floor saw some fancy footwork. The liquid confidence from Harriet Brewing may have had something to do with that too! The Mad Munchkins want to personally thank everyone who attended, donated, or cooked for this event. It is truly humbling to have such a wonderful show of support for our creative work.
And a special thanks to the Mixed Blood Theatre for letting us use their fabulous space and making this fundraiser possible – incredibly accommodating and gracious hosts. Check out their Radical Hospitality Campaign to see a show from their Mainstage season for FREE!
A good time was had by all and the company has a wonderful nest egg to get the 2012 Mad Munchkin season jump-started. Stay tuned for the posting of some award winning Crockpot recipes from the Cook-Off and updates on the development of our brand new show The Man Who Turned into a Fish.
What a way to start a new year! Cheers From The Whole Mad Munchkin Crew!
